While speaking to reporters on Monday, Taylor was asked if Joe will return to the field for their regular season opening game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday. He responded to the question by saying the signal-caller is “day-to-day” heading to the match.
The Bengals starter holds the record of going 1-4 against Cleveland in his career, albeit the team’s HC is probably not sure if Joe Cool can give another tough competition in the upcoming match as well. However, he remained optimistic while offering updates about the quarterback, and said his improvement is extremely laudable.
“Just keep getting reps in you know, and I thought today was a really good day for him. It was encouraging to see and so we’ll just take it one day at a time,” he added.
Though the Cincy coach is still skeptical about Burrow’s appearance in Week 1 games, the team’s offensive coordinator Brian Callahan has already delivered a ray of saying they have a good plan in place to have the QB at the helm on September 10.

Cincinnati has exercised the fifth-year option for the QB for the 2024 season, and marked the move as “a mechanical step along the way.”
The Bengals’ director of player personnel Duke Tobin earlier offered some insights into the team’s plan on making their dual-threat one of the highest-paid players in the league. He said contract talks between himself and the franchise’s chief financial officer Katie Blackburn were going on, and noted they were eyeing a contract that meets the team’s salary cap requirements.
