The Cincinnati Bengals starter Joe Burrow entered his earlier two seasons finishing rehab from an injury from a torn ACL in 2021 or recovering from an appendectomy in 2022. It limited him to appear in very few or zero snaps in the Bengals’ preseason last two years.
Bad luck followed him this year too as Burrow suffered a calf injury during one of Cincinnati’s first practices of training camp. The Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was not optimistic about the quarterback’s return at the initial days of August saying he still needs several weeks to fully recover, albeit the HC now has good news for his signal-caller. Amid that, Joe also amused fans by pairing with Joe Montana in a new commercial.
Bengals’ HC Zac Taylor shares positive update on QB Joe Burrow’s injury
Burrow didn’t practice with the Bengals after the camp’s injury, albeit he appeared in a pregame workout prior to the team’s preseason game on 11 August. He also didn’t travel with his fellow teammates for Cincinnati’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons a few days ago.
However, Taylor shared a positive development of their starter via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport saying, “He looks great. Physically walking around, he looks as good as he’s ever looked.”

Just a day before Zac’s statement, the team’s offensive coordinator Brian Callahan also shared news about the veteran’s progress and signaled his potential comeback.
“To my eyes, he looks like he is progressing the way he’s supposed to. I don’t see him a lot doing things. I probably see him as much as you guys do. So I don’t go watch his rehab or anything like that, but I feel good about everything I’ve heard and seen so far.”
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported a few days ago that Joe Cool should be ready to play in the Bengal’s season opener against the Browns on September 10, albeit the franchise has not provided any update about the news yet. However, he is set to be out of the roster during Cincinnati’s final preseason game Saturday against the Washington Commanders.
Joe Burrow features in a new commercial despite being injured
Burrow recently teamed with the Pro Football Hall of Famer Montana in a new Guinness ad and the Cincy star appears in the video wearing a limited-edition Guinness No. 0 jersey to promote the brand’s zero-alcohol beer option. According to a report of Fox19, all proceeds from the jersey sales will go to The Joe Burrow Foundation.
The Joe duo met for the first time in March this year when they worked with Guinness to volunteer at City Harvest in New York City. The 26-year-old star heaped praise on the ex-NFL legend, saying, “I think his resume speaks for itself on the field, and then his resume off the field is just as impressive.”
The former San Francisco 49ers star Montana also praised the Bengals starter saying he loves watching the signal-caller’s game. Have you enjoyed the veteran duo’s new ad? You can share your take on the ad in the comment section.
