Tyson Fury left Saudi Arabia victorious after his bout with Francis Ngannou had. They squared off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, and it looked like the WBC champion might suffer his first defeat. Ultimately, Fury won by split decision, with two judges favoring him (96-93 and 95-94) and one judge supporting the former UFC heavyweight champion (95-94).
The reigning 2023 NBA MVP, Joel Embiid, tweeted after the final result was decided. He said, “NO F***ING WAY, FRANCIS GOT ROBBED.” During the third round, Ngannou sent Fury to the ground with a left hook, marking the seventh knockdown in Fury’s career.
Despite the fight being Ngannou’s debut boxing bout, he displayed strength and posed a real challenge to the British fighter. Nevertheless, Fury persevered and landed some well-placed punches during the match. However, it is worth noting that both Joel Embiid and Ngannou are natives of Cameroon.

After the match, social media erupted with many people believing the French-Cameroonian fighter should have won. Joel Embiid’s reaction to Ngannou losing to Furry was surprising to many in the NBA who felt the MVP was preparing to feature in the matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers against the Toronto Raptors.
However, some fans did not waste any time reacting to the Joel Embiid post. A fan of the 76ers, who knew the Sixers were about to play in minutes said, “BRO WE PLAY IN 5 MINS WYD???.
As if that wasn’t enough, another question arose about how possible it was for the MVP to warm up for the match against the Raptors and still engage in some social media activities.
However, the Sixers defeated the Raptors with the scoreline of 114 -107. Joel Embiid did contribute immensely within 35 minutes of play to score 34, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists to lead the 76ers to emerge victorious. His last night’s performance brought some relief to the team and fans who didn’t want to see the team lose again for the second time this season.
