John Cena has been making strides in Hollywood with his new movies and series. The wrestler was last seen facing off against the ‘Tribal Heir’ Solo Sikoa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 event. Since his appearance in November 2023, Cena has yet to make any surprise comeback.
Recently, Cena named his five favorite WWE wrestlers, emphasizing the necessary stars for the women’s division. The list exclusively features current athletes signed with the Stamford-based company, excluding any former WWE wrestlers.
John Cena names his top 5 female stars
John Cena has been recently seen in a lot of interviews for his upcoming movie ‘Ricky Stanicky’, and during one of those interviews, the wrestler appeared on ESPN First Take. During the interview, the co-host Christine Williamson asked the 16-time world champion about his favorite female wrestlers in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
The ‘Hustle, Loyalty, Respect Soldier’ replied, “That’s a great question. I’m gonna change the monument, we’ll go top 5. Let’s see… I say, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Charlotte Flair. That’s my top 5.”
The names Cena mentioned are currently the top female athletes in the women’s division of WWE. ‘The Role Model’ Bayley is the recent Royal Rumble champion and is set to face Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship.
“The Man’ Becky Lynch is the Elimination Chambers match winner and is set to fight in WrestleMania 40 for the Women’s World Championship. Bianca Belair is the former World Champion, and although she is not fighting in WM 40, fans still regard her as a top superstar.
Rhea Ripley is the current Women’s World Championship holder, and a little while back, she defeated Nia Jax on Elimination Chambers to retain her title. ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair’ is a former world champion, who a few months back, signed the most expensive deal for a female with WWE in the company’s history.
John Cena reveals his WWE WrestleMania 40-week schedule
John Cena a short while ago, appeared in ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’, where he addressed a number of topics regarding his career in Hollywood. The host then went on to question Cena that WrestleMania 40 is around the corner and some rumors claim that John will face off against ‘The People’s Champion’ The Rock.
John said, “People are talking, about WrestleMania 40. They’re speculating that The Rock and I will be in the ring in Philadelphia for WrestleMania 40. They’re gonna keep talking until it happens. We don’t know yet. That was not satisfactory. We just took the wind out of your sails. Do you want me to make a promise I can’t keep? Am I in the business of writing checks that my ass can’t cash? Is that what we’re doing here? Is that the type of outfit you’re running?”
Interestingly, John further added, “It’s April 6, in Philadelphia. I know exactly where it is. I mean, I’m free that day. I’m just saying. I’m just saying to you guys out there. Now, the energy’s coming back a little bit. The suspense is building.”
Recent rumors are that ‘The Champ’ will appear in the Philadelphia event just like 2023’s Money in the Bank surprise appearance. Cena wrestled Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 for the United States Championship last year and unfortunately lost.
Some fans are assuming that the master of ‘Attitude Adjustment’ will return in the ring on the ‘Show of Shows’ to energize the WWE universe. Although these are only speculations, the possibilities still remain that the all-natural WWE star might make his surprise comeback this April on WM 40.
