It must be hard to not like Jude Bellingham. Apart from a rare disparaging review of being labelled a fashionable player after the Madrid derby, many teammates, and fans especially, have been in awe of his young and glorious talent.
Bellingham has been a prodigy performer since making a sensational £115 million summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Madrid. He has notched up an impressive tally of 15 goals across all competitions, deservedly winning the Golden Boy Award while also applauding Lionel Messi for his sterling career.
Jude Bellingham wins the Golden Boy Award
Jude Bellingham has been an exceptional young talent in recent times – the award for the best U21 in the world does not fully justify his excellence.
Bellingham’s outstanding talent has recently been rewarded with the 2023 Golden Boy prize after his incredibly stunning performances for Real Madrid. In the same vein, Erling Haaland beat Lionel Messi to the Golden Man award. Needless to mention, Aitana Bonmati has been expectedly rewarded for her outstanding performances with the Golden Woman award.
Bellingham secured the first position in the Golden Boy voting, amassing 485 votes and claiming the top spot with an impressive 97 percent of the votes cast by the participating journalists nominated for the award.
The 20-year-old has swiftly and deservedly gained recognition as one of the prime midfielders of recent times, and Monday’s accomplishment further solidifies the high esteem in which Bellingham is held. Additionally, Manchester City’s prolific goal scorer Erling Haaland surpassed Lionel Messi to secure the Golden Player Man award, in respect to his remarkable contributions that played a pivotal role in the club’s successful pursuit of the Treble last season.
Erling Haaland has been an excellent player just like Jude Bellingham. This is not a surprise considering the history they both shared at Borussia Dortmund. Haaland scored 52 goals in 53 games for Pep Guardiola, winning the treble. Similarly, Aitana Bonmati also starred in the Women’s football world as she was recognised as the best women’s player.
