Erling Haaland has been an excellent player just like Jude Bellingham. This is not a surprise considering the history they both shared at Borussia Dortmund. Notably, during the award presentation, one of the interviewers humorously noted that Lionel Messi, after securing the Golden Boy in 2005, went on to amass a record eight Ballon d’Or titles.
In response to the presenter’s humorous observation, the England superstar offered humble praise, stating, “Not a bad career, is it? He is a great legend of the game and one of the greatest ever to play, like I said, just to join that list is a real honor.”
Jude Bellingham’s win in the Golden Boy Award makes him the third English player to secure this accolade, joining the big ranks of the legendary Wayne Rooney and Raheem Sterling.
