Justin Fields bids Bears fans emotional goodbye as petition for jersey patches grows

Justin Fields entered the NFL under the wings of the Chicago Bears as their first-round pick. Nevertheless, his injuries and inconsistency at last let the Bears lose their trust in him. Amid rumors linking him to the Atlanta Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers finally bagged him recently letting Russell Wilson embrace him with a fierce message as Wilson’s backup quarterback.

Meanwhile, as the former Bears’ starter is now on the way to his Steelers journey, bidding farewell to his fans, his Bears fans remained quick to share their appreciation with a unique petition.

Justin Fields bids emotional farewell to Bears fans

Following a challenging third and final season with the Bears, Justin Fields said goodbye to the team and its fans, expressing sincere appreciation for their steadfast support. In an interview, the former Bears’ starter fondly looked back on his time in Chicago, highlighting the unwavering love and support he received from the fans, regardless of the weather.

“I LOVE CHICAGO, MY TEAMMATES, AND FANS, they always showed up no matter the weather,” he said in an interview.

Tensions between Fields and the Bears escalated after the season, leading to his decision to unfollow the team’s social media accounts in frustration. Nevertheless, Fields made sure to express his gratitude to the Bears organization, and his teammates, before his departure.

He thanked the city for embracing him and the Bears franchise for the opportunity to be part of its rich history in a heartfelt X post.

“Can’t say thank you enough to the city of Chicago for taking me in and embracing me. Thank you to the entire Bears organization and ownership for allowing me the opportunity to be part of such a historic franchise. But most of all thank you to my all my brothers that I played with.”

Now, Fields is preparing to embrace a new role as the backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Russell Wilson named as the team’s starter.

Meanwhile, with Fields no longer in the picture, the Bears organization is actively considering options for the quarterback position in the upcoming NFL draft. One of the potential candidates is Caleb Williams, a standout from USC. His impressive talent and potential could inject a fresh burst of energy into the Bears’ offense.
