Kenny Omega names Kurt Angle his favorite wrestler, WWE HOFer reacts

Kenny Omega is still in the process of recovering from diverticulitis, and there is no definitive timetable for his return to the ring. Despite the setback, fans are eagerly anticipating his return and the potential dream matches he could bring to AEW. In the meantime, Omega is participating in several fan activities to stay connected with the wrestling community.

During a recent streaming session, Kenny Omega revealed that WWE’s Kurt Angle is his favorite wrestling figure, although he has been inspired by many others over the years. Given his lengthy tenure working for AEW, WWE’s rival, the revelation came as quite a surprise.

Kenny Omega says Kurt Angle is his favorite wrestler

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle received appreciation recently from former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. He recently rewatched the Kurt vs. Rey Mysterio match of WWE Summerslam 2002 and proclaimed it to be one of his absolute favorite opening bouts of all time.

While expressing his respect for the 55-year-old legend’s versatility, the Cleaner noted,I do think that Kurt Angle is the greatest – I can’t even say just in-ring, for me he’s the most complete wrestler of all time. He’s my favorite. He’s my go-to guy to study, for me being an athletic guy that wants to be able to mesh well and complement every wrestling style. But also not – I’m also, of course, anyone who’s familiar with me here in chat, I’m not afraid to embarrass myself or do silly things. And that’s what I loved a lot about what Kurt did on TV.”

This illustrates why the wrestling world is so tight-knit, how various organizations can work together, and how much respect there is among professionals. When Omega’s praise for Kurt circulated on social media, it quickly caught the attention of the legendary gold medalist, who wasted no time in returning the praise to the AEW heavyweight champion.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
