The United States Olympic basketball team of 2024 might have some of the biggest NBA players on their roster. LeBron James was the first to indicate his intention to be part of the 2024 summer games after a disappointing FIBA World Cup appearance by Team USA. Apparently, stars like Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard also have expressed their desire to join the U.S. Olympic team known.
Just when fans thought the number of stars is being overloaded in the roster, another big name emerged with a burning desire to join the team to Paris.
Kevin Durant commits 100% to Team USA for 2024 Olympics
Many players have made their wish to be part of the U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team known that will make a trip to Paris in 2024. Grant Hill who is the USA basketball managing director will certainly face a tough task at hand, especially with now even Kevin Durant also indicating interest to join the team. On Monday evening, Durant told Yahoo Sports, “I’m 100% committed [for Team USA].”
Kevin Durant secured three gold medals in past Olympic competitions, with his most recent victory in Tokyo 2021, where he claimed the top position in Olympic history for scoring, surpassing Carmelo Anthony. His quest to augment this remarkable tally is set for the coming summer, as numerous NBA stars have publicly expressed their determination to participate following the United States’ woeful performance in the recent FIBA World Cup held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.
Kevin Durant said, “It’s on whoever is making the calls. They put the team together, they make the calls, but yeah, I’m committed to playing this summer. If they would have me on the team.” Durant might not have to worry so much after making his interest known considering he has a rich credential in the Olympic games already.
Durant appeared in his typical form during Monday night’s preseason match against the Portland Trail Blazers. He played for just half of the game but managed to score 19 points within 15 minutes. For the second half, he, along with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, watched the game from the sidelines in their street clothes.

It is no news that Team USA failed to win a medal in their last FIBA World Cup outing, as they lost to Germany who became the surprise winners in the semi-finals and also lost to Canada in the only hope-for medal chance they had. This has led to several NBA stars indicating their interest in being a part of a mission that will look to restore the pride of the United States of America in the global stage of basketball.
Stars like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, and Kevin Durant will have a chance to unite as teammates on Team USA as they all have declared interest in being part of the Paris 2024 team.
Both LeBron and Durant have won two and three gold medals respectively with team U.S.A. Dame, on the other hand, has one gold medal. However, it appears that the only thing that separates Curry from the other superstars is the Olympic silver wear which is something he really. The whole world will look forward to Paris 2024 when the U.S. Olympic Team will parade a roster filled with perennial winners for the games.
