Kevin Owens Injury Update: WWE reveal ex-champion suffered fractured metacarpal, rumored to be sidelined for weeks

Kevin Owens was one of eight competitors in US Champion Logan Paul’s latest SmackDown event on December 1st, which aimed to choose Paul’s next opponent. Owens put up a brave fight against Grayson Waller for the title of #1 contender. Waller unfortunately went for Owens’ hands throughout the bout. Apparently, the assault may have gone too far, hurting Owens badly.

If Kevin Owens did in fact have X-rays after SmackDown, it was reportedly for a possible hand injury. The WWE tweeted today that Kevin Owens has broken both his fourth and fifth metacarpals. We don’t yet know whether this is an actual injury or just a plot point.

Kevin Owens injury update

On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown in WWE, Kevin Owens emerged victorious in his match against Grayson Waller. During the bout with Waller, Owens appeared to injure his hand, which drew the attention of the commentators.

On the other hand, Logan Paul recently announced an eight-man competition to determine the next challenger for the U.S. championship, raising questions about Owens’ potential participation.

Following the event, WWE made public a video from backstage showing a doctor and Owens addressing his hand. Owens brought up the idea of having X-rays to determine the full severity of the damage.

After the bout, WWE released an update that showed Owens had broken his fourth and fifth metacarpals. Whether this would affect Owens’ ability to participate in the tournament was not specified in the release, and neither was the expected period of recuperation.

WWE tweeted, “@fightowensfight has sustained an injury, fracturing his 4th and 5th metacarpal during #SmackDown last night.”

Kevin Owens injury history

After beating The Usos at WrestleMania 39, K.O. and Zayn enjoyed a remarkable run as WWE Tag Team Champions. Unfortunately, after showcasing their prowess in several bouts on RAW and SmackDown, it ended. Owens’ rib injury meant that Finn Balor and Damian Priest took over the championship.

Kevin Owens was seen at the ringside during Sami Zayn’s bout with Dominik Mysterio. Nevertheless, the referee ordered him backstage, and he subsequently came back showing obvious symptoms of damage.

There have been rumors circulating backstage that Owens was dealing with a rib ailment in addition to the one he sustained in July. Fans are now asking about his comeback plans and the severity of his latest injury. However, the only choice that remains for Kevin Owens’s followers is to wish him the best and hope that he recovers quickly.

Is K.O.’s injury something you can relate to? Does the injury seem genuine, or is it just part of the plot? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Oh, hi, this is Md Robin Ahmed, a WWE fan and I everyday go through a slew of popular WWE stories on Sportszion. Watching Big Show's Showstopper was the beginning of my passion for WWE, though I have to say that his Chokeslam is not one of my favorite moves. Over time, my love for professional wrestling has intensified, mostly due to the Shield, and my all-time favorite wrestler in WWE is Big Dog. I would give everything to be able to be within a few feet of him to witness his iconic Superman Punch and Spear. My major is engineering, but I'm most happy when I'm doing something artistic that doesn't put me under any pressure. Watching them wrestle and discuss their matches is always fun for me. And I've finally discovered a career that gives me fun since it allows me to with my dream heroes lifestyle. So, Welcome! I'd love to hear from you on LinkedIn and Facebook.
