The spark of return started after Zlatan Ibrahimović decided to gift a jersey to the UFC former champion, and this moment was captured later and posted by Zlatan.

But the post was captioned with UFC 300, which was the real reason to spark this news, as the football star was posting an anticipated return of his fan’s favorite. Then, just to clarify, Khabib Nurmagomedov had to intercede, as he posted a story with the same post and an additional statement, “UFC 300 will be without me, like UFC 400.” This clarified fans that they might not witness their favorite MMA star fighting again.

Why did Zlatan Ibrahimović’s post fuel Khabib’s UFC 300 bout rumors?

The actual cause behind the rumors surrounding UFC 300 is not singular. Dana White himself has vowed to feature a legendary figure in the main event fight card. Subsequently, numerous fans have been eagerly anticipating the return of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

And to spice things up, Zlatan decided to post a picture of him with the UFC Hall of Famer. But more than the picture, it was the caption of the picture that got people’s attention.

After receiving numerous messages on social media, Khabib Nurmagomedov ultimately opted to address fans’ curiosity by making a statement. He took to his Instagram, boasting over 36 million followers, and posted the story, putting an end to all the speculations fans had been making about him.

Though it can be expected that Khabib will sit in the audience watching the action live take place on April 13th this year, his return to the cage is just a mythical thought now.
