Kim Kardashian reacts to Lionel Messi fulfilling son Saint West’s ‘absolute dream’

Lionel Messi is probably the biggest soccer superstar in the world right now, only rivalled in influence by longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo. Ever since he made his historic move to MLS side Inter Miami, the whole of America has become obsessed with him. He is now arguably one of the most famous celebrities there and the biggest athlete as well.

Inter Miami games have seen record attendances due to the Argentine, who is also bringing in many American celebrities to their games. One such celebrity is Kim Kardashian, who has now thanked Messi for a special gesture.

Lionel Messi and Inter Miami were in California recently for their latest MLS fixture against the LA Galaxy. The Herons had an exciting game that ended 1-1, with Messi scoring the last-minute equalizer. But the game was much more than that, with a host of celebrities attending the game.

One of the high-profile names was that of tennis legend Novak Djokovic, along with other celebrity superstars. American media personality Kim Kardashian also attended the game for the second time.

Kim was very happy with the Argentine maestro, though not for his performance on the pitch. It was due to him walking out of the tunnel to the pitch during the beginning of the game with her son Saint West. The celebrity son of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian walked out on the pitch holding the hands of Messi.

The action was hugely appreciated by Kim, who uploaded the video on her social media. She wrote in the caption that her son was ‘living the dream’, “Saint walking Messi out on the field tonight at the La Galaxy vs Inter Miami game!!! He is living the absolute dream!”

Kim and her son previously met with Neymar Jr. and Cristiano Ronaldo during their tour in Saudi Arabia last year.

MLS wary of Lionel Messi’s Taylor Swift emulation

There is no doubt that Lionel Messi has completely changed the sport of soccer in the USA, and has become the face of the MLS. He has brought in wide coverage of the league, and is surely their biggest star ever.

However, many feel that the MLS is focusing too much on Messi, and that the decision to only focus on him could be harmful. He even likened it to pop icon Taylor Swift who has managed to take over the NFL due to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce. The pair are closely monitored by fans and the media, and she has brought in much coverage and attention to the American sport.

MLS commissioner Don Garber is one of the few who thinks that the MLS need to focus on more than just Lionel Messi. He recently said to Sports Business Journal, I think it’s easy and somewhat lazy for reporters to just write about Messi. It’s like writing about Taylor Swift.”

He emphasized the league has growing for quite a while, and the fact Messi joined is the biggest proof, “We all need to remember that Messi helped take this league to new heights and gave us momentum on a trajectory that was established in the years leading up to building a league that Messi would want to be a part of.”

Nevertheless, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami will continue their campaign together, with the next game on Sunday against Orlando City.
