The Minnesota Vikings, led by Kirk Cousins, are sitting at the second spot of the relatively less competitive NFC North with a 6-4 mark. After constantly being involved in trade rumors, the quarterback decided to finish strong this season, but he had to end his season with a 4-4 record due to a gruesome injury.
The Vikings, who have Joshua Dobbs as their new starter, are 2-0 without Cousins. Though Dobbs couldn’t prove his caliber with the Arizona Cardinals, he played at his best with the Vikings while Cousins is still recovering from his season-ending injury. Meanwhile, the injured QB also became a part of his team’s recent Thanksgiving activity.

Despite rehabbing from the injury, Cousins has been reportedly seen around the Vikings facility lately. Even Dobbs revealed how the QB has been motivating him to adapt to the Vikings offense while revealing his plan to capitalize on the opportunity of using Kirk “as a resource” to learn the Vikings playbook.
Besides helping Dobbs, the veteran signal-caller took part in the team’s Thanksgiving activity as he was seen serving dinners at the Salvation Army wearing a walking boot. He said the activity was planned before his injury; hence, he couldn’t avoid participating.
“We’d committed to it before the injury [on Oct. 29], and I realized we can still get there,” he said via Outkick.
The dual-threat’s wife Julie and son Cooper also joined him to hand out the dinners alongside the other Vikings stars. He said such an activity with family and teammates serves as a “change of scenery, change of pace” amid his recovery process.
“It’s fun to bring my son Cooper. We’ve learned that it is truly more happy-making to give than to receive. We came last year, and it was a great event. It was fun to be here with teammates and spouses. It’s a little change of scenery, change of pace.”
Cousins signed autographs as well at the Salvation Army and spent moments with some young as well as old attendees at the campaign.
Kirk Cousins injury update
After sustaining the season-ending injury, Cousins went through a successful surgery three days later on Nov. 1 at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Eagan, Minnesota, under the guidance of renowned Dr. Chris Coetzee.
Though he still has a long way to overcome the hurdle, he has got a step further to recovery lately. The veteran has recently shared a story on his Instagram account revealing the cast of his right foot has been taken off.
The signal-caller tore his Achilles tendon in the fourth quarter of their Week 8 match against the Green Bay Packers. He got injured after being sacked by the Packers’ defensive tackle Kenny Clark and was unable to put weight on his leg before getting carted off the field.
Before suffering the blow, the Vikings star threw for more than 300 yards in four games. He had to finish the season with the record of completing 69.5% of his passes along with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions throughout eight games.
