The Warriors are having a tough time this season with repeated losses in their matchups. Critics and analysts are not cutting any slack for the Warriors, blatantly criticizing players and their mistakes. Klay Thompson had enough of the criticism and decided to speak up.
In their latest loss, the Warriors fell victim to silly mistakes and turnovers as they lost the game against OKC. Draymond Green took responsibility for his mistake in the match but Charles Barkley had another opinion.
Thompson challenges Barkley’s criticism
The Golden State Warriors have been a dominant force in the NBA for quite some time, and many people have been guessing when their reign in the league will end. Former player and popular analyst Charles Barkley believes that this season marks the beginning of the end for the Dubs. Barkley openly expressed his opinion on TNT’s show “Inside the NBA,” where he was accompanied by the former head coach of the Dubs.
Klay Thompson has not taken this criticism of Barkley lightly and has lashed back at him with his statements. “The only frustration is that will this guy ever give us any credit? Do you know how hard it is to do this? Annually? You would think Charles would understand it. how hard it is to win the championship. To do that all annually? And we are still here. What are we 10 and 12? 60 freaking regular season games are remaining. But he has been hating on us since 2015. So it is not a surprise,” Klay reportedly told the Athletic.
Charles Barkley credits Bob Myers for timely exit
Klay Thompson’s words have some point to them, Barkley has not been a very big fan of the Warriors and often criticizes them. He has avidly expressed his displeasure with “super-teams” and heavily criticized the now Phoenix Suns player Kevin Durant when he made the move to the Dubs a few years back.
Barkley was accompanied by the former head coach of the Warriors, Bob Myers on TNT’s Inside the NBA show. Barkley made fun of the poor performance of the Dubs this season and credited Myers for a timely exit before things started to go south.
“I want to give you credit for jumping off the Titanic before it sank,” Barkley told Myers. Myers responded and said that he had friends over at the GSW but Barkley continued the mockery and said that Myers was going to see them soon.
