Many things have been revealed about Kylian Mbappe’s childhood. His obsession with Cristiano Ronaldo growing up and, shockingly, his love for AC Milan. The PSG star revealed he supported AC Milan as a young kid, gave his reasons, and even made a huge promise to the Rossoneri fans.

Mbappe had a lot of idols growing up. Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic—the list goes on. It is everyone’s wildest dream that the 24-year-old grew up watching AC Milan, a club he claimed he supported as a child.
In a picture circulating online, Kylian Mbappe wore an old AC Milan shirt, backing his claims that he truly supported the club while growing up.
AC Milan is travelling to France this week for their third group stage match against Ligue 1 champions PSG. The Rossoneri have drawn two of their opening games against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund and will be hoping to pick up their first three points against the French side, although it seems unlikely. Mbappe’s France National Team teammate, AC Milan LB Theo Hernandez gave a sneakpeek on how his side could stop Mbappe.
It’s going to be a difficult week for the Italian giants, as they also go against Napoli in a top-of-the-table clash in the Serie A this weekend.
Mbappe explained his Milan support
Kylian Mbappe would have been one of the happiest people when the UCL draw pitted PSG against AC Milan for this year’s group stage. The Frenchman revealed last year that he supported AC Milan growing up, and he has the chance to play against his childhood team on Wednesday when the two sides clash in the UCL at the Parc des Princes stadium.
“My connection with AC Milan is special,” the World Cup winner told La Gazzetta dello Sport in 2022.
“As a child, I had an Italian nanny and spent a lot of time with her family, who were all AC Milan fans. So, thanks to them, I also cheered for the Rossoneri and watched a lot of AC Milan games,” he continued.
The Frenchman went ahead to reveal the promise he made to himself when he was little about playing in Italy. “I always said if I play in Italy, it will be only at AC Milan. On the other hand, if I had said the opposite, they (his nanny’s family) would have killed me,” he joked.
Finally, he went on to congratulate the club on their Scudetto win in 2022. “Seriously, I can only congratulate them on the Scudetto won by AC Milan, where I have many French friends and Ibrahimovic, a legend that I respect a lot,” he concluded.
Kylian Mbappe is yet to sign a new contract with PSG, leaving a summer move to Real Madrid at the end of the season a possibility. However, his mother, Fayza Lamari, who also happens to be his agent, seems to be the one behind the Frenchman’s reluctance to move to Real Madrid.
