Bronny James has been a wonderful player so far in college-level basketball in the United States. However, he isn’t the best player at his level, let alone in the NBA. Fans didn’t hold back either when they had something important to say about the rumor.
Lakers reportedly want Bronny to play with LeBron James
It has been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers are entertaining the idea of signing Bronny James with the hopes of forming a father-son duo in the squad. Skip Bayless covered this rumor on his Undisputed podcast, where the popular NBA analyst discussed the possibility of Bronny coming to the Lakers.
Bayless reportedly said, “The Bronny I watched in the McDonald’s All-American game was good enough to contribute to an NBA team. He has a good enough feel for the game, he has a good enough NBA-type stature. He doesn’t have his father’s height but he is 6’3 and is well built… He should shoot a little better from a distance than his father has ever done.” Bayless complimented LeBron James’ son and also backed him up for a debut in the NBA.
NBA fans are furious over Lakers’ desire to sign Bronny James
The NBA fans have shown their displeasure upon hearing the rumors and expressed their concerns about the rumored signing of Bronny James. One fan commented, “With all due respect… Bronny getting drafted by the Lakers would show a higher degree of nepotism than Thanasis on the Bucks.” Expressing his displeasure with the rumor, he highlighted that signing Bronny would be an act of nepotism, which would be very unfair for other deserving athletes.
Another fan commented, “I wish they wouldn’t do this to that kid. I can’t imagine how hard it is to be LeBron’s kid but he’s not ready. Needs at least 3-4 years of college.” He highlighted that Bronny is not ready for the NBA and it would be bad for him to get into the league right now.
Another fan commented, “Go get a dude from one of the overseas leagues and stop the madness bro isn’t ready for the NBL let alone the G League or NBA.” He gave the Lakers a fair suggestion of signing an overseas player and leaving Bronny alone for now. The Lakers have been silent on making moves to refresh the squad, despite requests from their fans. Getting overseas talent would be beneficial for the squad, as they have proven to be great players; Luka Doncic and Giannis are the best examples of the same.
