Lakers LeBron James responds wittily to his trash-talking incident with Dillon Brooks, claiming with time “everybody will get it”

LeBron James is arguably the biggest star in the NBA right now. He has been at the pinnacle of the sport in terms of popularity and excellence for over 20 years. Everything Bron does on or off the court becomes quick headlines in tabloids and his dispute with Dillon Brooks is no exception.

Trash-talking has been a part of the NBA for a long time. The players have their egos and sometimes don’t hold back while expressing their opinions. LeBron James has often been on the receiving end of these trash talks and has recently responded about it in a brief interview.

LeBron James on trash talkers

LeBron James was recently interviewed by Melissa Rohlin of FOX Sports and LeBron’s statements were intriguing. He was asked about the trash-talking he had been receiving lately after the Los Angeles Lakers had a bad playoff run last season.

She asked King James about the comments of Dillon Brooks and Michael Malone and what his response was to them. LeBron nodded his head and cleverly said, “There will be a time…. There will be a time when everybody will get it.”

Dillon had passed some comments on LeBron James during the last season’s first-round series. He reportedly had called him “old” after the Grizzlies won game 2 against the Lakers.

LeBron James and Dillon Brooks altercation

The now Houston Rockets star Dillon Brooks and LeBron James had an altercation during last season’s playoffs, especially during game 3 of the series. This situation was triggered by an incident that happened in the second quarter of the game when King James made a drive to the basket and was intercepted by Brooks who reached inside to steal the ball.

The two athletes made contact and Brooks hit the groin of LeBron James after which LeBron immediately fell onto the ground in pain. The play was reviewed by the referees, and they decided the contact was a flagrant 2 foul. As a result, Brooks was ejected from the game.

Bron was asked about the incident in a post-game interview where he admitted that Brooks had done similar things in the past and the Lakers star was “tired of it” by now.

On the other hand, he apologized for the foul play and admitted that he had no intention of hurting LeBron. However, he stood by his stance of playing a physical game and trash-talked a little. He reportedly said, “I poke bears. I do not respect anyone until they come and give me 40.”

This altercation between LeBron James and Brooks sparked many debates on the need and role of physicality in the NBA among sports fans.

What do you think about the clever response by LeBron James? Do you think Dillon Brooks is all talk and no action? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop them down in the comments section and share with us.
