When does Anthony Davis contract with Lakers end?
Back in 2020, Anthony Davis signed a 5-year contract with the Lakers estimated to be worth around $189.9 million. He is supposed to play with the Lakers for till the 2024-25 season but has an ETO clause in his contract. It allows Davis to become a free agent in the 2025-26 season. However, if he doesn’t exercise the clause he will be under contract and will have to play two more seasons with the Lakers.
When compared to LeBron’s contract with the Lakers, Davis’ contract falls short a bit. Bron has a slightly more expensive contract, earning a higher annual salary, but Davis’ contract is longer, which means he will remain with the Lakers for two additional seasons compared to King James. Some critics have questioned the Lakers for offering Anthony Davis a contract that is in proximity to LeBron’s.
However, they seem to overlook the fact that he is one of the best players in the league. At 30 years old, he stands in contrast to the 38-year-old LeBron, who is arguably in the twilight of his career. Davis currently possesses more potential than James, showcasing his dominance on both the offensive and defensive sides of the court.
