Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal boldly claims he would match Draymond Green’s $769970 move on Rudy Gobert

Shaquille O’Neal recently made a bold statement about doing the same thing as Warriors’ Draymond Green in the wild matchup against the Timberwolves. The Warriors were scheduled to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, and before the first point was scored, all hell broke loose.

The game got off to a very violent start with Klay Thompson, Jaden McDaniels, and Draymond Green all getting ejected after a brawl broke out in the very beginning of the match. The Inside the NBA crew discussed the situation, and Shaq claimed that he would do the same thing as Green if he were in his place.

Shaq admits he would have done the same thing as Green

Shaquille O’Neal recently admitted that he would have done the same thing as Draymond if it meant defending his teammates. Draymond Green put Rudy Gobert in a chokehold to separate him away from the mess on the court.

Shaq said, “I am from old school, there you always stick up for your guys. Like, me and you are doing this interview right now and if somebody come put their hands on you, I am gonna beat them up because you are my guy.”

He further added, “You get these people who say it was wrong, I try not to be a hypocrite. I would have done the same thing. I am not going to sit here and say he was wrong, he should not have done that, and he probably shouldn’t have done it, but what would Shaq do? Shaq would have done the same exact thing.”

Draymond Green to pay $769,970 penalty for chokehold on Rudy

While Shaquille O’Neal stands by the action of the Warriors star Draymond Green, there are quite a few who disagree with him. The head coach of the Warriors, Stever Kerr is one of them, who was disgusted by the incident and blamed Green for “taking it too far” contradicting Shaquille O’Neal’s statements.

Kerr reportedly said, “He held on for six to seven seconds, and it was a terrible visual for Draymond, for the league, and for everybody. Draymond was wrong. He knows that well. It was a bad look. The five-game suspension was deserved. And we move forward.”

Draymond Green has been subjected to disciplinary action for his act. It is reported that the NBA has imposed a five-game suspension on the Warriors star and he would have to pay a hefty amount of $769,970 as a fine for his violent act. Kerr is right that violence should not be promoted anywhere.

What do you think about Shaquille O’Neal’s statement? Do you think this incident will impact Green mentally? We are eager to know your thoughts, so let us know, down in the comments section.
