Lakers maintain banner policy despite LeBron James leading them to In-Season Tournament finals

The Lakers have secured a spot in the finals of the newly introduced In-Season Tournament where they are scheduled to face the Indiana Pacers. It is almost like the Lakers would get another trophy to add to their already-loaded trophy cabinet.

However, it has been reported that the In-Season Tournament will not get any special treatment at the Crypto arena as the Purple and Gold have no plans of making a change in their existing banner policy and have decided to stay true to their tradition.

LeBron James dominant performance secures finals spot for Lakers

LeBron James delivered a dominating performance against the New Orleans Pelicans helping his team to get to the finals of the In-Season Tournament. He had a 30-point game where he made eight crucial assists proving that he can still do it every night despite being at an age where many players decide to hang up their boots and call it a day.

Bron is 38 now and soon will be 39 but he is still amazing everyone with his dominance in the NBA.

The secret to this is no magic potion but consistent hard work and strong willpower to follow a strict routine. NBA veteran and Bron’s former teammate Isaiah Thomas recently talked about LeBron’s insane work ethic and nearly teared up while talking about it.

The Lakers’ star continues to inspire millions and set an example for the future generation to look up to.

After the game, LeBron did a post-game interview where he talked about how the tournament is another opportunity for him and the team to get better.

“It is still December and I am not getting too crazy about this whole thing… It is just another game for us to get better… We have yet another opportunity to do that,” said LeBron. He also applauded the tournament and labeled it as a great way to prepare for the post-season.

Lakers stay true to tradition

The banners at a team’s home are one of the oldest ways of depicting a team’s achievements in the NBA. They are a sign of honor and pride for a team and all the people related to it.

With the Lakers securing a spot in the finals of the first-ever NBA In-Season Tournament many people expected that if they win the tournament, the franchise would put up a banner in the honor of becoming the first ever In-season tournament champions.

However, it was recently reported that the Lakers have no plans to change their banner policy and will remain true to their tradition of putting up only NBA championship wins up in the air. According to Arash Markazi, the Lakers have no plans to change their stance on only hanging banners for NBA championships.

Markazi posted, “They do not hang banners for Western Conference titles, Pacific Division titles, and potential NBA In-Season Tournament titles, only NBA titles.”

What do you think of LeBron James’ performance this season? Do you think the Lakers will put up a banner for a possible In-Season tournament win? We are eager to hear your opinions, so let us know them down in the comments section.
