Jeanie Buss, the Lakers’ majority owner, has become one of the most powerful women in the NBA. Jeanie became the controlling owner of the Lakers after the demise of her father, Jerry Buss in 2013. Jeanie is the first female owner to clinch an NBA championship in 2020.
Married to Jay Mohr, Jeanie Buss is also a business titan, who often finds herself in official meetings. Recently the franchise owner made a shocking claim of being harassed sexually by a top personality in the NBA.
Lakers’ Jeanie Buss exposes sexist treatment
Jeanie Buss during an interview on ‘In Depth with Graham Bensinger,’ made a shocking revelation of an NBA owner grabbing her butt during her NBA Board of Governors meeting. Buss said, “As we were waiting, taking a break from the meeting and everybody’s in line for the buffet for lunch during the lunch break, somebody grabs my ass, I turn around and I was so shocked.”
The alleged sexual harassment incident revelation by Jeanie Buss, which occurred in 1995 as reported by the LA Times, was initially revealed in Buss’ 2010 book titled “Laker Girl.” Jeanie Buss, also revealed to Bensinger how she confronted the said owner. “I just gave him a dirty look, like back off.”, she said.
Jeanie Buss revealed the experience to make life easier for the next set of women who find themselves in the corporate field of the NBA so that don’t have to face similar situations. It sparked a wave of controversy with her revelation, which has raised questions about the treatment of women in the league.

Jeanie Buss, who tied the knot with Jay Mohr in Malibu this past September, revealed their unconventional sleeping arrangements, on ‘In Depth With Graham Bensinger.’
“OK, everybody is gonna want to live exactly the same way, right now we live in a building that has three units. So I live on the top floor and Jay lives on the first floor.” Jeanie said. Despite being a married couple they both live on different floors of the same building.
She doesn’t really want to change anything because just like everyone else, she values her space and has her schedule. Her husband also likes his space and has his schedule too. However, she added that she could easily take the elevator down to pick up her slippers, spend some time together, and then head back up to her space.
Despite Jay Mohr’s previous drug addiction having a temporary effect on their relationship, the couple appears to be enjoying their marriage’s principles, which serves them best.
