Lakers star reveals LeBron James’ positive encouragement to Cam Reddish despite missing game-winner

As LeBron James approaches the twilight of his iconic NBA career, he continues to make headlines. Throughout his career, LeBron has consistently delivered victories for his teams, earning numerous team and personal accolades, including four NBA championships.

In a recent game between LeBron James’ current team, the Lakers, and his former team, the Miami Heat, his team’s hopes of securing a win were put in jeopardy by one of his teammates. During this situation, a prolific Lakers shooting guard revealed how LeBron displayed his leadership skills in response to the challenge.

LeBron James backs Cam Reddish despite late drama

The Lakers narrowly lost to Miami Heat, despite LeBron’s outstanding performance, which ended in frustration. In the closing minutes of the game, LeBron sought the best shot and made an open pass to Cam Reddish, who unfortunately missed it. However, even in the face of this late-game drama that jeopardized the Lakers’ victory, shooting guard Austin Reaves revealed LeBron’s reaction to Cam Reddish’s miss in the locker room, highlighting the leadership skills of the legendary LeBron

Austin Reaves said, “As soon as [LeBron] walked into the locker room, he went to Cam and said, ‘Nah, that’s a good shot. Situation happens like that again, we’re gonna give it right back to you and knock it down.’ That’s major, happened to me in the past with Bron.”

Furthermore, in a video shared on X by Rob Perez, LeBron could be seen driving to the rim while being guarded by Jimmy Butler, he then drove to the basket, when Bam Adebayo came to help Butler out, which left Reddish wide open in the corner.

LeBron made the pass to Cam Reddish, who missed the wide-open three-point that cost the Lakers’ supposed victory. While the Lakers’ fans criticize LeBron for the pass to Reddish, instead of making a shot, the King will always decide when to take his shot or make a pass.

Lakers fall against Heat

The Lakers’ recent loss to the Miami Heat increased the tally to four losses in the season so far, while winning just three games in the process. The Lakers recently fell to a one-point defeat to the Miami Heat with the scoreline 107-108. LeBron’s efforts though were exceptional with 30 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks with 13 of 23 shots from the field, it wasn’t enough for the Lakers’ win.

Miami Heat’s stars center Bam Adebayo and power forward Jimmy Butler combined efforts to seal the Heat’s victory. Adebayo averaged 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists while Jimmy Butler added a season-high 28 points. Though the Miami Heat were astonished when LeBron James reduced their 10-point lead to just one, when he scored seven of his game-high 30 points in a minute and 19 seconds during the fourth quarter, Butler’s Heat still managed to clinch the victory.
