Lando Norris has been a part of McLaren ever since his debut in Formula 1 and the young Briton has gathered a lot of reputation owing to his consistent performances with the Papaya team. Norris is the apple of their eye and the recent season was a prime example of his trust in the team.
Lando Norris has been praised time and again by the team bosses and even his rookie teammate considers Lando’s influence in the team a deciding factor for progress. McLaren and Lando Norris are like a dream come true, and fans are waiting for the driver to get his first win in Formula 1.
Lando Norris extols McLaren’s Andrea Stella
Andrea Stella took over the reigns of McLaren in 2023 and although his team got off to a depressing start, Stella steered them well over the summer, providing extensive upgrades to make the MCL60 a competitive machine again. Lando Norris is one of the many fans of Stella in the F1 paddock. Norris even recognized their post break comeback as McLaren’s best comeback in 10 years.
Stella was praised wholeheartedly by his driver and Lando provided an explanation as to why, the F1 community might be fawning over Stella’s first year at McLaren. “I feel exactly the same. I did an interview the other day and I just said big thanks to him… I think it’s not everything just on him. You’ve got to thank a lot of other people in the team, because they’re the ones who have done a lot of the work.”
“Andrea is just the director of it all. He’s the producer of the set, and everyone else is the cast but you need everyone to work together very well. That’s what they’re doing. So, he’s done an amazing job. I’m very, very happy with having him where he is.
“He still does a lot for the team every single weekend in terms of racing and qualifying and all of that. But I can’t ask for a better team principal.” Lando’s confidence in Andrea Stella is good news for McLaren if they want to keep him for a longer time in the team and win a potential world championship with Lando.
McLaren boss excludes Lewis Hamilton in top three drivers list
Lewis Hamilton debuted in Formula 1 with McLaren and he won his first championship with them in 2007. Hamilton is a pretty celebrated driver in McLaren for his exploits in his early seasons but the new team principal doesn’t consider him good enough to include him in the list of his top drivers.
“My top 3 drivers with equal cars would be – Max Verstappen, Lando Norris and Fernando Alonso,” was Stella’s answer and people were incredibly surprised because he didn’t include Schumacher or Hamilton. There are celebrities who would choose Hamilton over Ayrton Senna but Stella instead seems to have different plans. Either way, Stella and Lando look set for next year with maximum confidence in each other, giving Papaya fans something exciting to look forward to.
