Las Vegas GP is the next stop for the carnival of F1 as the penultimate race of the season. The Vegas Circuit is a new addition to the plethora of F1 venues as it enters the fray as a street circuit night race. The Las Vegas GP has been well received so far by the community and F1 drivers. Many people were excited to join the City of Lights.
There has been a sense of doom looming over the Las Vegas GP, which may involve a sudden cancellation on the brink of the weekend. The race has already gone through a lot of problems during construction and fans had to face a lot of problems due to the cancellation of HG2 grandstand recently, just days before the race.
Las Vegas GP faces cancellation threat
It seems like the problems for Las Vegas GP organizers won’t be ending anytime soon. A strike from workers over reoccurring contract problems will end up disrupting the race and inducing a possible cancellation. The situation has gotten worse in the past few days, with a lot of workers joining the fray in order to make their voices heard.
The labors of hospitality joints like MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts have threatened to go on strike on the morning of November 10 in order to send a stern warning to the higher-ups. The laborers have suggested that they have been working under an expired contract since September 15 and they want a good contract considering the record-breaking profits of hospitals in recent times. The laborers want a price hike considering this situation with a new contract in good faith in order to resume their jobs.
The Culinary and Bartenders Union has informed us that 35,000 of its members at 18 properties would go on strike the morning of Nov. 10 if no deal was reached with MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts.
Las Vegas hotels witness drastic price drop ahead of the event
The current circumstances haven’t been fair for the visitors either, who have already booked tickets to the much-awaited race. There is a new problem pestering the visitors who have already gotten their bookings done. Tickets to a Formula 1 race as popular as Vegas is often very expensive and contrary to the FIA’s beliefs, tickets have remained unsold for the Las Vegas GP. To counter this situation, the hotels in Vegas have slashed their prices by 58% in an effort to attract more visitors, with one hotel even dropping its price by 83%.
This sudden price change has frustrated the fans who booked hotels earlier and they are now looking for refunds in order to claim their wasted money. The new prices were definitely unfair to the fans and many managed to rebook hotels, saving a lot of money. However, some fans are stuck with non-refundable prices, which have caused a negative impact on the Las Vegas GP.
