As we look ahead to the 2023 Formula One season, all eyes are on Red Bull’s dynamic duo – Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Their impressive track record thus far has solidified their position as an unstoppable force. It’s uncertain when their reign will come to an end, with some experts speculating that it may not be until the next set of regulation changes in 2026.
But recently as per the predictions shared by Richard Bradley, renowned for winning Le Mans, the new regulations that are set to be implemented in the near future will be set to curb Red Bull’s dominant position in the sport of Formula 1.
Richard Bradley claims upcoming regulations to “screw” Red Bull’s dominance
During an episode of the ‘On Track GP podcast’, Bradley discussed the FIA’s potential intervention to “screw” Red Bull’s dominance in the racing industry. He believes that FOM and the FIA often implement rules that target top teams like Red Bull in order to promote fairness and balance in the sport. However, It is uncertain if these actions will be taken.
The winner of Le Mans commented on the potential new regulations from the FIA that could be aimed at Red Bull, and this “We’ve seen it over history. They did it with Williams when they got rid of the active suspension and all the electronic aids. They did it for Ferrari so all of a sudden Renault became dominant and that’s when Alonso won his championships.”
“You can tell that they’re going to target Red Bull. Then we’re going to find what makes Red Bull weak and try and exploit that. So there will come a time in the cycle that Red Bull will lose out and another manufacturer may come to the top. I think then that’s when you’re going to have to seriously reevaluate the situation.”
