It is always a great spectacle to watch NBA stars stand up for each other, and the Lakers star LeBron James did exactly that as he stood up for the Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid through a series of posts on X.
James called out the media outlets for not being accountable for their bashing of Embiid and also not apologizing now that the 76ers center is sidelined with an injury and his MVP contendorship is under threat.
LeBron James slams media outlets for slandering Joel Embiid
The Lakers ace Lebron James has recently slammed the media outlets for going after the Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer posted his thoughts on the behavior of the media outlets and TV personalities on his official X account.
LeBron James said, “Where are all the media outlets, the TV media personalities, hot takes that talked so much sh** about Joel Embiid missing those games when he knew what he was dealing with?”
He continued slamming the media outlets in a follow-up post where he blamed them for not apologizing for all the slandering they did. He said, “Now he is out with an injury because of it. Not one person has gone back on tv or their dumbass podcast and apologized to that man! No accountability trash.”
James is an avid supporter of NBA players and has often spoken on their behalf. It is great to see elite-level sportsmanship from him, even if he is not on the court.
Joel Embiid injury update
It has been recently reported that the Philadelphia 76ers star center has suffered an injury and he will be out for at least a few weeks. Joel Embiid has been diagnosed with a lateral meniscus injury which is expected to keep him out of any action for the weekend until a treatment plan is devised for him.
Joel has missed a significant number of games, and due to the new player participation rule, he would most probably miss out on the chance to compete for the MVP award. The Sixers now have to figure out a way to build a strong team without their star player at the center of it.
The responsibility for the rest of the team would be significant, as the Sixers currently face stiff competition with the Knicks and the Cavs with only one and a half points separating them. LeBron James’ words in support of Embiid were great to witness for the fans, and many people await Embiid’s response to it.
What do you think of LeBron James’ statements supporting Embiid against the media bashing? Do you think the Sixers would be able to survive without their star player? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop down in the comments and let us know.
