Aja and her Las Vegas Aces are receiving a heap of praise and congratulations for their historic victory over the New York Liberty.
Aja’s performance earned her the Finals MVP as they won a consecutive WNBA championship. After making history in over 20 years, she is earning recognition and applause already from personalities like NBA legend LeBron James.
LeBron hypes A’ja Wilson
LeBron James quickly praised A’ja Wilson who is a two-time league MVP, for her remarkable victory. He shared several Instagram stories to congratulate the Aces. Among these stories, one particular post garnered significant attention.
He reposted a Bleacher Report post on his story with the caption, “Sis the TRUTH!!!!!! Signature shoe coming!! I mean what are we talking about! Congrats @aja22wilson.”
LeBron mentioned A’ja Wilson’s signature shoes and predicted that she would soon be launching another signature pair now that the WNBA Champion has bagged the finals MVP. The Lakers icon, on the other hand, has collaborated with Nike multiple times to create some of the finest basketball performance shoes in history.
In Game 4 against the Liberty, A’ja Wilson scored 24 points, contributed 16 rebounds, a block, and a steal, achieving her sixth double-double of the postseason. With that block, she secured the fourth spot on the WNBA league’s all-time postseason block list.
It’s not surprising that King James desires A’ja to establish a similar legacy. Like LeBron, the Aces’ standout player has transcended the sport and become a true global icon. Nike released A’ja Wilson shoes in September
Former South Carolina women’s basketball star A’ja Wilson has followed in the footsteps of several of her former teammates by signing a partnership with the apparel giant Nike. While the exact details of the agreement haven’t been disclosed, a spokesperson for Wilson has confirmed it’s a multi-year partnership. This deal includes incentives for making the WNBA All-Star team and representing the U.S. national team, among others.
Nike is building on Wilson’s success by making her the face of the Cosmic Unity sneaker line. She’s been spotted working out in a player-exclusive colorway of the Nike Cosmic Unity 3, inspired by her unique style of play. These shoes provide optimal energy return, pro-level traction, and elite cushioning to help her stay at her best throughout the game.
The sneakers feature a midfoot Flymesh that hugs the midfoot and gives containment and a newly implemented Flyknit collar for plush support, enhancing confidence while reducing the shoe’s weight for improved agility.
