LeBron James raises eyebrows with unusual halftime routine in Lakers preseason game vs Warriors

The preseason of the NBA is almost over and the regular season will start soon. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are also getting ready for the regular season but an unusual behavior by James in a preseason game against the Golden Star Warriors has caught the eye of the fans.

King James has been at the pinnacle of the Basketball world and many people have known and come to love the sport just because of him. Therefore his actions on and off the court hold great value to the fans. His recent unusual action is having a big reaction with even legends like Michael Cooper talking about the matter.

Lakers legend Michael Cooper criticizes LeBron for mid-game dinner break

The Lakers were having a preseason match with the Golden State Warriors where LeBron James was supposed to play only one half. Knowing that he won’t return in the second half of the match, LeBron’s unusual action after he subbed out has raised many eyebrows.

After the first half, the Lakers’ all-time top scorer changed his uniform and returned to the bench as a spectator. However, LeBron James was sighted having dinner while enjoying his teammates in action. This behavior of James has attracted mixed reactions from the fans. The Lakers legend, Michael Cooper stepped into the matter and expressed his opinion on his podcast “Showtime with Coop.”

Copper reportedly said, “I did not like that. He is LeBron James, but still, you have got to have respect for the game, man. I do not mind the guy eating, but go eat in the locker room, and when you come out, be part of the team, not just sit on the end of the bench eating.”

While this was only a pregame incident, Cooper is not entirely wrong. However, post-game meals are not harmful, and LeBron might not want to change his routine. He already has a history of bringing food and beverages courtside, as he did in 2018 when he brought a glass of wine to a game he didn’t play in.

Lakers conclude preseason with a 2-4 record

The Los Angeles Lakers conclude the preseason with a 2-4 record. This preseason can be called a success, marked by some incredible individual performances. However, inconsistent plays were also present in almost all the matches where the players were unable to maintain their scoring form.

This was LeBron James’ first preseason after the 2021-22 preseason, and he looked good and healthy. He averaged 21.7 points and collected 7.7 rebounds per game. Anthony Davis was also in good form, averaging 18.3 points and 9.7 rebounds, although his blocking, at an average of 2.0 per game, could use some improvement.

The Lakers, however, were looking a bit dismantled and were struggling to find their rhythm. The offense of the team was stagnant and the defense was facing a bit of difficulty. Overall the preseason for the Lakers was a mixed bag where it was made clear that the team needs more improvement before the regular season begins.

What do you think of the usual eating habits of LeBron James? Do you think the Lakers will have a good NBA season? We are eager to know your thoughts, so drop them down in the comments section and let us know.
