It is a very proud moment for parents to see their kids achieve various honors and milestones and it is an even bigger moment for grandparents to witness their grandchildren flourishing. Such was the case for LeBron James, one of the greatest basketball players of all-time and James’ mother, Gloria James when they bore witness to Bronny James Jr. tearing up the basketball court with amazing ferocity that can be traced back to the King himself.
Taking to social media, LeBron wrote an emotional note sharing his and his mother’s joy in watching Bronny play ball on television.

In August, last year, LeBron James and his family had one of the biggest scares a family could have. The King’s son Bronny James Jr. collapsed while working out and was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect which caused his cardiac arrest.
The young star who committed to play for the University of Southern California took time to recover and was forced to rest before he made his college debut for the Trojans in December 2023. Ever since, Bronny has been a regular starter for the team with energizing sprints and well-anticipated defensive efforts. Through his catch-and-shoot antics, the star has given USC a much-needed shooting boost.
Watching his son ball out effortlessly is a dream come true for the King and he has provided his son with all the attention, advice, and criticism that will make the youngster an assured superstar in the years to come. During the Trojans’ game against Arizona which featured Bronny, LeBron James took to Twitter to pen down a very emotional moment that occurred in the King’s household.
Bron recollected his mother’s praise for her son and grandson as they watched the latter play on live television. LeBron James wrote, ‘Crazy man! My mom sitting right next to me just said “You know how amazing this is!? Sitting here with my son while watching my grandson on TV. I feel so present and blessed”. Shit almost brought me to tears just now.’

Just like how LeBron has been a constant supporter for Bronny, Bron’s mother Gloria Marie James also played a very important role in shaping LeBron James as an individual and as a player. Now, the 55-year-old grandmother gets the opportunity to shape another upcoming athlete from the James family with her profound knowledge and wisdom just as she did with LeBron himself.
Bronny James performance vs Arizona State
As LeBron James and his mother watched over their young superstar, Bronny James put up decent numbers running the floor for the Trojans.
In the disappointing loss to Arizona State University, the team’s fifth loss in the last seven games, the King’s son put up 7 points while shooting 3 of 6 from the field which consisted of a 3-pointer. Complementing his 7 points were 5 assists and 4 rebounds in the 82-67 USC loss.
Bronny James Jr.’s collegiate career has been quite a rocky road so far, not to mention the terrifying heart incident that could have been career-ending. In 10 games Bronny played for the Trojans, the 19-year-old has averaged 5.8 points per game to go along with 2.5 assists and 1.9 rebounds.
While consistency has been a cause of concern, there is no doubt that more game time and preparation will only help the young one to thrive and elevate his game. With LeBron James hoping to play with his sons in the NBA one day, it is only a matter of time before we see an improvised version of the King’s son dominate the college basketball world.
