Legendary NFL manager Bill Belichick provides blunt response to sacking rumors following Patriots loss to Colts

The New England Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick has a knack for finding hidden gems in the draft’s final rounds, just like he did with the legendary Tom Brady. After drafting TB12 in 2017, the coach didn’t have to look back again as they joined forces to build a dynasty that lasted two decades for the franchise.

However, the Patriots’ good times started to fade away following Brady’s departure. Though Belichick recorded his 300 regular season victory lately, the win came after consecutive defeats. Following that campaign, the Pats once again lost another match in week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts, and Belichick addressed it along with his potential firing rumor.

Bill Belichick’s response on rumors of being sacked

The Patriots’ defeats are more connected to Belichick than the players in the squad. His experiment with the offensive side of the ball has raised eyebrows in the NFL community lately, and even the quarterback Mac Jones was seen frustrated with his O-line.

With back-to-back defeats, rumors have swirled in the air about the Pats’ GC’s potential departure from the franchise, and even owner Robert Kraft seemed to have a mindset of sacking the vet soon. The speculation grew strong following the team’s recent 4-point loss against the Indianapolis Colts.

However, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach didn’t beat around the bush when he made it crystal clear that all the blood, sweat, and tears poured into the Patriots were solely for the team’s success.

“Well, I just do the best I can every day,” he said via The Spun.

The Las Vegas Raiders have recently shocked fans by parting ways with their head coach Josh Mcdaniels amid the regular season. Though Tedy Bruschi, a former NFL linebacker and current ESPN analyst, urged Kraft to let Belichick see things out until the end of the season, things might not go in his favor.

According to a recent report by Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the Patriots have even reportedly planned to sign the Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel after parting ways with Bill.

Patriots poor form continues with loss to Colts

After delivering an upsetting blow to the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots have once again switched to their usual losing ways. The 6-10 defeat against the Colts, which was a real nail in the coffin, was mostly due to the offensive line dropping the ball and Jones throwing a real stinker of a pick. This marked their third consecutive loss. The Patriots QB wrapped up the game with 15 completions on 20 throws, racking up 170 yards and unfortunately throwing an interception.

Belichick was not happy with this performance as well and called out the players for missing too many opportunities on the field.

“Obviously a disappointing game—similar theme that we’ve had other games this year: just too many missed opportunities,” he told.

Ahead of the match, the Pats were the second-lowest scoring team in the NFL, and after scoring only 10 points in the match, where they failed to find endzones once, they have made the equation even worse. For the first time since 2000, the Patriots are now at the bottom of the AFC standings with a poor 2-8 mark.
