Max Verstappen’s and Lewis Hamilton’s ruthless rivalry began in 2021, when the Dutchman clinched his first World Championship, and the seven time World Champion encountered his challenger for the first time.
Verstappen ultimately put an end to Hamilton’s years of dominance, ushering in his own era in the world of Formula 1. While the two drivers maintain a cordial relationship off the grid, they aren’t necessarily “best friends.” However, in a recent development reported by Motorsport Turkey, Hamilton issued a warning to Verstappen, signaling a potential shift in their dominance.
Hamilton fires a warning at Verstappen
Max Verstappen has 13 wins in his tally out of 16 races already, along with ten winning streaks. The driver has continued to deliver phenomenal performances, with the upgrade of RB19, except in Singapore, which was due to some unavoidable technical issues of the car. He quickly, rebounded back in Japan having a ten-race winning streak.
On the contrary, Hamilton has been delivering very average performances compared to his previous ones but has somehow managed to take P2 in the championship standings, which could also be at risk because of Ferrari’s recent development in performances.
The entire phenomenon has led the driver to have a cold war with the Dutchman, as he gave a warning to the two-time World Champion.
As per Motorsport Turkey, he said, “Keep up the good job, but we’ll be back soon too.”
Verstappen nears third F1 Championship
Max Verstappen is poised to become the first individual in the F1 industry to secure a third Championship title, a feat that could be realized as early as the race is scheduled for October 7th in Qatar. Max Verstappen now only requires a victory among the top 6 to secure this prestigious title.
Scoring among the top 6 will be an easy challenge to the Dutchman, as he has finished in the top five in every race, along with finishing on the podium, 18 times out of 19, except in Singapore where he could not deliver his best performance and finished at the fifth position.
However, if Verstappen finishes among the top 6 drivers, regardless of Perez’s performance on the grid, the title will solely belong to the soon-to-be third World Champion.
Fans believe that the odds are most unlikely to happen as Verstappen has proven to deliver exceptional performances throughout the races, whether it be the Grand Prix or Sprint race. The “beast of F1” has always kept his transitions smooth, and performed on the ground with confidence, from a very young age, which a lot of drivers tend to lack.
When Verstappen clinches the title, he will have a very rare achievement, becoming only the fifth driver in the World Championship’s history to complete a hat-trick, which is only accomplished previously by Juan Manuel Fangio, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Lewis Hamilton.
Hence his fans are already celebrating his victory, knowing that their Champion will never cease to not make them proud once again in Qatar.
