Lewis Hamilton predicts Max Verstappen to secure victory in remaining F1 races

Lewis Hamilton knows a thing or two about dominating Formula 1, having been the perpetrator of this ‘crime’ many times between 2014 and 2020. However, after an intense 2021 rivalry, Max Verstappen seems to have inherited the role.

So far, Verstappen has won 11 out of 13 races this season, the last 9 being back-to-back. He is looking set to break records and Lewis Hamilton has recently spoken out about his former rival’s expected performance through the rest of the season.

Hamilton anticipates Max Verstappen’s winning streak to continue

Recently, Lewis Hamilton conceded in an interview that he’s anticipating Red Bull’s “13 out of 13” win streak to continue. Out of the 13 races Red Bull has won, 11 victories went the way of Max Verstappen, and against teammate Sergio Perez.

It is already anticipated that Max is looking to break records this season, with him currently 138 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez after 13 races.

Speaking to RacingNews365 about this matter, he said, “There is a high chance that they’ll win every race, but we’re hopeful that we can challenge them at some point.”

Verstappen dismisses idea of Hamilton joining Red Bull in F1

He elaborates on how Mercedes plans to challenge their Milton-Keynes-based rivals, saying, “If there was a mistake or mishaps, we will be right there to capitalize on that. But in the end, the team hasn’t made any this year. So they might win everything, at least at the end of the year we might get closer.”

From this, it seems clear that even though Lewis and Mercedes aren’t in a position to fight for wins and challenge Red Bull, they have not lost hope of battling their former rivals on track, if given a chance to do so.

Hamilton’s form this season has been commendable, and much greater than his performance in 2022. He is currently sitting at P4 in the standings, looking set to challenge Fernando Alonso for P3 by the end of the season.
