Lionel Messi executes another Marvel-inspired goal celebration after clinching Inter Miami’s spot in the League Cup semi-finals

Lionel Messi has had a marvelous start to his MLS career. Not only is he now inching towards his 6th victory for Inter Miami, he has, in fact, already scored eight goals in five appearances for the club since his debut. Messi looks happy at Inter Miami as speculated from his unique celebrations in the past few weeks.

With celebrations mimicking comic book characters like Thor and Black Panther out of the way, the Argentine decided to celebrate another landmark achievement of his team by replicating one of the most iconic MCU characters.

Lionel Messi adds another Marvel-inspired celebration

The 36-year-old 7-time Ballon d’Or winner has given his fans worldwide, especially those in the States, a lot to say about his celebrations. First, in a match against Atlanta United, Lionel Messi pulled a celebration everyone initially thought was a “hold my beer” gesture aimed at David Beckham, but it was soon discovered that Messi was actually pulling one of MCU character Thor’s many signature moves.

He did not stop there. Messi, again in a match against Orlando City after he recorded a brace, threw another Marvel-inspired celebration. After the first of those goals, the legendary Argentina international crossed his arms over his chest just like the Wakanda Forever gesture from Black Panther.

Messi found the back of the net again yesterday in a 4-0 victory against Charlotte and threw another Mavel-inspired goal celebration. And this time, it was none other than Spider-Man. The Argentinian talisman mimicked Spider-Man’s web-slinging action after scoring the final goal of the game in the 86th minute.

In Messi’s effort to secure a place for Inter Miami in the Playoffs, he has scored eight crucial goals in just five matches for the club. Five consecutive victories is a rarity for a team that was previously near the bottom of the MLS. Since Messi joined Inter Miami, the overall performance and confidence of the team seem to have skyrocketed.

Inter Miami is now very hopeful of making it to the Playoffs. Coach Tata Martino was cautiously optimistic after the match against Charlotte, “I hope we can do something.” Now, their focus will be on the Leagues Cup semifinal.

Inter Miami set to face Philadelphia Union in Leagues Cup semi-final

Lionel Messi has made it eight goals in 5 matches as he eases Inter Miami onto the Semi-finals of the League Cup with a 4-0 thriller against Charlotte FC.

Understandably so, Messi didn’t have his usual masterclass of either scoring a double, opening the scoreline, or grabbing a winner through a wonderfully crafted freekick, but the World Cup winner still managed to find the back of the net in the 86th minute.

Inter Miami will be on the road against the Philadelphia Union in the Leagues Cup semifinal on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
