Lita revealed Vince McMahon threatened her to perform a live s*x celebration with Edge on WWE RAW

Lita, also known as Amy Christine Dumas, has been a part of the WWE universe since 2000 and has achieved Hall of Fame status. The former four-time WWF/WWE Women’s Champion is renowned for her wrestling skills and her role as the partner of the ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge in the storyline.

Lita, a former wrestler, revealed on Twitch that she once participated in a live celebration with Edge after he defeated John Cena to win the WWE championship. However, she explained that the experience was uncomfortable and forced upon her.

Lita revealed her discomfort with the much-discussed segment with Edge

Lita is one of the most iconic WWE wrestlers of all time, and she deserves all the praise and recognition that she achieved during her time with WWE. The ‘Rated R Superstar’ Edge started a relationship with Lita after her previous partner Matt Hardy was out due to an injury. In 2004, both Lita and Edge started dating, which later spilled into a rivalry between Matt and Edge.

Recently, Lita was seen in a Twitch Livestream, and during the segment, she revealed the story behind the live s*x celebration on Monday Night Raw. The 48-year-old superstar said that WWE threatened her, saying that if she did not perform the s*x scene with Edge inside the ring, then she should forget about having a career in the company.

Fans were outraged when WWE had Lita do something that was out of her comfort zone. Lita herself revealed that she was not comfortable with it and that even John Cena and Edge tried to talk Vince McMahon out of the idea.

However, the WWE chairman refused to indulge their wishes. Although Lita agreed to the provocative segment, she later regretted her decision and left the company. Lita retired from full-time wrestling in 2006, and in 2014, WWE inducted her into the Hall of Fame.

Former WWE writer disclosed the origin story of Edge’s infamous segment

WWE former writer Christopher DeJoseph revealed in June 2022 on ‘Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw’ about the iconic Edge and Lita’s live sex celebration. Christopher said how the live sex celebration came into existence and how Vince McMahon got the idea.

“Edge had just won the title from John Cena and cashed in the Money in the Bank. We were in a meeting with Vince and he said, ‘Well, what would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?’ and I said, ‘I would have sex with my girlfriend in the middle of the ring for everybody to see. So that’s kind of how that live sex celebration thing happened.”

At New Year’s Revolution 2006, the Rated R Superstar made the first ever ‘Cash In’ of the Money in the Bank contract. Edge had a great career, and he won the WWE Championship from John Cena after a tough Elimination Chamber match. Following two spears to the master of the Attitude Adjustment, he became the new champion.

Although the s*x segment is one of the most-watched episodes of WWE, fans are now taking to social media to promote the harshness both superstars faced when they were forced into that scene. Since then, Edge has started a career in AEW with a new ring name, Adam Copeland, while Lita became one of the biggest ambassadors of the WWE umbrella.
