Liv Morgan marijuana case: reviewing the latest update on former WWE champion’s misconducts

The former SmackDown women’s champion, Liv Morgan was arrested in Florida on charges of marijuana possession in December 2023. She posted bail and was released from jail after posting a $2,500 bond, but her mugshot went viral on the internet.

Morgan was out of action since July 2023 due to an injury and was expected to return to WWE sooner. However, her arrest has made the situation more difficult and she has hired a new attorney to handle the case.

Update on Liv Morgan’s marijuana case

Liv Morgan faced charges for synthetic cannabinoids and marijuana possession, both of which are illegal in Florida. On January 2, the charge related to cannabinoids was dropped due to a lack of evidence. She is scheduled to appear in court on February 12, 2024, for the remaining charge of marijuana possession.

Morgan’s legal team, led by prominent attorney Jack Goldberger, confirmed that, the scheduled arraignment on February 12th at the Sumter County Courthouse has been canceled and has postponed to 20th February.

Possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana is considered a first-degree misdemeanor in Florida. Consequences may include up to a year in jail or probation, a $1,000 fine, and a six-month suspension of the driver’s license.

There are rumors that Morgan’s case might be dismissed, as first-time marijuana offenders in Florida are often eligible for diversion programs, which involve completing community service. As Morgan has no heat or backlash from WWE officials she is expected to return to WWE soon

Liv Morgan teases future match with Rhea Ripley

Liv Morgan has not publicly commented on her arrest but remains active on social media, sharing positive and inspirational messages. On January 4, Morgan retweeted a WWE post featuring the WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley with the caption “Eyes on the prize.”

Morgan and Ripley have a history of friendship and rivalry on both Raw and SmackDown. They were tag team partners in March 2022, but Ripley turned on Morgan after a loss in a match for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Morgan suffered a shoulder injury in July 2023 after an attack by Rhea Ripley and The Judgment Day. At that time, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were the Women’s Tag Team Champions. The injury caused Morgan and Rodriquez to vacate the title and now both are out of action, as Rodriquez recently announced that she is suffering from a medical condition.

Morgan faced Ripley in a singles match on SmackDown in March 2023, with Ripley emerging victorious by making Morgan tap out to the Figure-Four Leg Lock. They also crossed paths in the 2023 Royal Rumble match, where Ripley eliminated Morgan to secure the win. If Morgan is set to return to WWE, challenging Ripley for the title at the Royal Rumble 2024 would be an opportune moment.
