The 27-year-old remains optimistic about what lies ahead, despite facing a whirlwind of stressors, including the demands of fatherhood and the uncertainties of free agency.

“My life is fun, but it’s very stressful right now, too. I don’t get sleep at night. I have a kid, a newborn, I don’t get sleep. I’ve got the free agency, you know? It’s a lot going on, but I’m taking it all in at one time,” he said.

Sneed is unaware of the Chiefs’ move and his future in Kansas City. Nevertheless, he expressed his desire to continue his journey with the Chiefs for another season.

“Hopefully I’m with the Chiefs. Hopefully I’m still here. Hopefully we go back and repeat,” he said.

The Chiefs faced a crucial decision this offseason, choosing between placing the franchise tag on either Sneed or star defensive tackle Chris Jones. Ultimately, the franchise tag was placed on Sneed, securing him for the 2024 season with a fully guaranteed $19.8 million. This move gives both parties until mid-July to negotiate a potential long-term deal, demonstrating the team’s commitment to keeping Sneed in the red and gold.

However, amidst the uncertainty of free agency, the Chiefs remain open to various possibilities, including a potential long-term contract extension or even a trade involving Sneed. The franchise is committed to exploring all avenues to ensure the best outcome for both the team and the player.

The Chiefs have already secured Chris Jones after the defensive tackle publicly stated his desire to win a three-peat with the Chiefs. In addition to Jones, they also brought back linebacker Drue Tranquil, safety Deon Bush, and long-snapper James Winchester.
