Logan Paul garners praise from injured NXT star after US champion hits viral move on WWE SmackDown

WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 is just around the corner and the six participants for the elimination chamber cage match was made official on today’s SmackDown episode. Logan Paul, the current United States Champion, qualified for the chamber match as the sixth member by defeating the A-Lister, The Miz.

Apart from Logan’s iconic Knock Out punch finisher, during his match against The Miz, the Youtuber-turned-wrestler executed a move reminiscent of an NXT superstar, who is currently sidelined due to injury.

Logan Paul receives praise from Nikkita Lyons

Logan Paul finally earned his spot at the six man Elimination Chamber match, which guarantees the opportunity for challenging Seth Rollins, for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, at the Day 1 main event of WrestleMania 40.

Logan Paul faced The Miz in the qualification match, which lasted for a grueling 20 minutes with both superstars exchanging brutal blows. When The Miz attempted to execute his finishing move, the ‘Skull Crushing Finale’, Logan surprised everyone by executing the leg-split drop on The Miz, a move popularized by Nikkita Lyons on NXT.

After Logan surprisingly delivered the Yam Slam move, the video clip went viral. Lyons, who is currently sidelined with an injury, took to Twitter to praise Paul for keeping the Yam Slam alive.

Nikkita added, “I love it, keepin the #YamSlam alive.” Logan stunned the wrestling world by using Nikkita Lyons’ signature Yam Slam move, which Lyons invented and debuted on NXT in 2022.

Nikkita Lyons injury update

Nikkita Lyons is one of the most promising talents in NXT, the developmental brand of WWE.
She made her most anticipating return to WWE in December 2023, after suffering a serious knee injury in 2022.

However, the situation got worse yesterday, when Dave Meltzer on his Wrestling Observer podcast, revealed that Lyon has been injured again. He said, “Nikkita Lyons is injured again, just coming back from an injury.”

According to Meltzer, Lyon has suffered a serious knee injury after the NXT live event on last Wednesday. This is a huge setback in her career, as this is the third time she has been injured in the last two years.

In 2022, Nikkita Lyons suffered her first major injury, a partial tear and sprain in her MCL, during a match against Dakota Kai. Again, in May 2022, Nikkita Lyons experienced another injury, sustaining a torn ACL and meniscus, during a match against Raquel Gonzalez.

It is not clear how long she will be out of action or what caused her injury, but it has been a devastating blow for Nikkita Lyons, who had just regained momentum and was poised to resume her feud with Zoey Stark.
