When will Lonzo Ball return to NBA?
Lonzo Ball had become a key player for the Bulls, putting up respectable numbers in games. However, his injury changed his fate, forcing him to stay away from his beloved game for an extended period.
Ball underwent knee surgery, specifically a cartilage transplant surgery. After the successful surgery, rumors circulated that Ball faced difficulties even in performing basic athletic functions like jumping or running. He wasn’t even able to walk for a few days post-surgery.
Lonzo Ball appeared at the recent media day of the Chicago Bulls and expressed his views on current games and his health status. He talked about his recovery and reportedly said, “I am feeling pretty good. I am probably halfway through the rehab process but still have a long way to go ahead of me. Each week I have been progressing. I am just trying my best to stay positive and take it step by step and day by day.” He has been out for almost two years and is expected to make a comeback in the 2024-25 season.
Last NBA game Lonzo Ball played was more than two years ago
On 14 January 2024, Lonzo Ball spent an entire two years without officially stepping foot on the NBA court as a player for the Chicago Bulls. He played his last game in the 2021-22 season on January 14 against the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls had to suffer a humiliating 138-96 loss to the Warriors after which their star player Lonzo Ball went to have his third knee surgery.
Ever since that surgery, Ball has not been in a condition to compete in the NBA, and it has been two years since. After that match against the Warriors, he missed out on the rest of the 2021-22 season.
He had to sit out the entire 2022-23 season as well, and it is highly unlikely that he will return this season. Lonzo Ball’s fans can only hope for the best and expect their star to return in the 2024-25 season, as recent news states that he has started running again this month.
