Luis Enrique’s statement regarding Kylian Mbappe’s future ahead of Le Classique can leave Real Madrid sweating

The future of Kylian Mbappe seems to be getting more and more certain with each passing day, but there is a new element now. For months, the player has been rumored to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Spanish giants Real Madrid for free this summer.

PSG have done their level best to convince the player to stay, but it seems that there is no way for the two to stay connected. However, just as fans thought the long transfer saga was finally coming to an end, the club’s manager has hinted at an interesting development.

PSG boss discusses Kylian Mbappe future

Ahead of the game against rivals Marseille tonight, PSG manager Luis Enrique was asked if it will be the last time Kylian Mbappe will wear the shirt in the legendary fixture. After all, even the manager himself had hinted the player will finally leave this summer. But instead, Enrique appeared to cast doubt on the matter, saying that he hopes Mbappe will still stay.

He said, “Last Classique tonight for Mbappe? Who said that? I keep my hope about Mbappe staying at PSG. He hasn’t announced anything yet… he can change his mind, no?”

Enrique further stated that if they win four trophies in the current season which includes Ligue 1 and the Champions League, Mbappe may be tempted to prolong his stay in Paris. “Imagine if we win four titles and Mbappe decides to stay at PSG… why not?”

PSG have never won the Champions League, and winning it this season may influence Mbappe’s desire to leave. However, everything points to the Frenchman having already agreed to join Real Madrid next summer, with many reports suggesting that only an official announcement is pending between the two parties.

Mbappe’s record in Le Classique

Kylian Mbappe is definitely the player Marseille fans would least like to see playing. After all, he is a menace when he plays against them in the very heated derby game named ‘Le Classique’. The two clubs are fierce rivals on the pitch, and Mbappe almost always shines during that game.

In the 15 games Mbappe has played against Marseille, PSG have won 10 of them and have never lost a game. The 25 year old has scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in those games. These records definitely prove why Marseille fans fear him, and they will hope he doesn’t play at his best again in the next game.

Kylian Mbappe and PSG will face Marseille once again tonight, and we can expect another great ‘Le Classique’ fixture.
