Luis Suarez’s career has been quite remarkable so far. From his time at Ajax to his sensational move to Barcelona from Liverpool, the Uruguayan has been one of soccer’s most exciting players, and his friendship with Lionel Messi may even be one the highlights of his amazing career.
The pair became friends when Suarez moved to Barcelona in 2014 for an undisclosed fee later revealed by Football Leaks to be around £64 million. He soon became part of a formidable trio alongside Messi and Neymar in the now-defunct MSN that won the treble in 2015.
The trio scored a record 131 goals in between the treble-winning season, with Suarez scoring the highest of the three with 59 goals, his best season ever. It now appears Suarez may link up again with Lionel Messi, much to the dismay of the Gremio manager.
Brazilian outfit Gremio manager wants Luis Suarez’s “Mexican Soap Opera” to end
Luis Suarez joined Gremio on a two-year contract last December but may well be on his way out of the club after just six months. A potential reunion with Lionel Messi has been rumored for the Uruguayan, who joined Inter Miami earlier this summer. The Argentine has since been unveiled as an Inter Miami player and scored a wonder goal at the last minute of the club’s Friday crunch match against Cruz Azul.
Inter Miami may be forming a team of former Barcelona players after signing Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba. Luis Suarez now seems to be doing all he can to join the Florida-based club. According to Mirror, Gremio manager Renato Gaucho is tired of the problem created by the potential reunion of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
“Suarez is now a problem that is in the president’s hands,” the Brazilian said. “They are exchanging ideas. As a coach, I have to focus on leading the team. It seems like a Mexican soap opera that should end now. Until August 2, I’m quiet; then, we’ll see how we continue.”
Suarez keen to reunite with former Barcelona teammates, including Messi
Luis Suarez is doing all he can to reunite with former Barcelona teammates at Inter Miami – Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. According to Football Transfers, the former Barcelona striker is willing to pay out the rest of his contract with the Brazilian club to join MLS side Inter Miami.
This could make Inter Miami one of the strongest teams in the MLS, boasting a squad of former treble-winners from Barcelona. This will also likely boost squad harmony as Messi and Suarez never really stopped being friends despite having not played together since their time at Barca.
