Mavs star Luka Doncic expressed his frustration with teammate Kyrie Irving’s lies during an interview with local media after the Dallas Mavericks’ 136-124 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. Doncic said Irving told him he was tired before the game. The Slovenian made fun of Irving’s performance in the post-game press conference after he explained the fear Irving almost injected into the team with his lies.

Kyrie Irving revealed the motive of tricking everyone. “I was tired,” he insisted. “I told them before the game that I was tired just to humanize what I was dealing with. I didn’t feel like my absolute best, but I knew that we would create some type of inspiration and motivation. I just told them I need to be picked up. Getting up and down the court a little bit, my body started to warm up.”

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic were predicted by analysts to be one of the best duos this season, with many suggesting they would guide the franchise through the NBA post-season. However, despite the lie from Irving, he and his duo put up a fascinating show by pulling great 3-pointers over and over again which led to them securing the needed victory over the Pelicans.

Following the matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Pelicans. Mavs star Kyrie Irving had a stellar performance, making 7 of 10 3-pointers and scoring 35 points, while Luka Doncic contributed 30 points, with 15 of them coming in a remarkable 42-point third quarter. The New Orleans Pelicans were defeated 136-124 on Sunday night by the Mavericks.

At the post-match briefing Jason Kidd commented, “Everyone’s being unselfish, (Irving and Doncic) are two leaders who set the tone — just unselfish and playing with the pass, and then our pace is different than what we’re used to.”

In the third quarter, they completed the victory by outscoring the Pelicans 42–31 and making 8 of 13 3-pointers. Doncic showcased his efficiency, going 11 of 18 from the field and making 4 of 9 from long range.

Irving continued his impressive form from the previous game, scoring 22 first-half points and helping the Mavericks take a 67-54 lead. He capped off the first half with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the right corner. This followed Irving’s strong performance in a 144-126 home victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, where he scored 20 points in the first half and finished with 27.
