Luton Town vs Manchester United: Man Utd still undefeated in all competitions in 2024, Erik ten Hag beats Jose Mourinho and Roberto Mancini

Manchester United has faced a challenging few months, grappling with significant struggles both on and off the pitch this season. Fans have been vocal about the need for changes within the club, and a potential turnaround surfaced when Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired a minority stake.

Despite a lack of major signings, the Red Devils have experienced a resurgence under manager Erik ten Hag, boasting an impressive unbeaten streak this year and showing signs of improvement.

Manchester United are yet to lose in 2024 as they beat Luton Town

Manchester United made a historic visit to Kenilworth Road, the home of Premier League newcomers Luton Town, marking their first appearance at the stadium in 32 years. With both teams eager for victory, the Red Devils took an early lead with young striker Rasmus Hojlund scoring two goals within the first 7 minutes, including one just 56 seconds into the game.

While Luton secured a goal in the 14th minute, both teams fiercely contested for the win until the end. Ultimately, Manchester United persevered, securing a 2-1 victory and extending their unbeaten streak this year. The Red Devils’ last defeat occurred on December 30 when Nottingham Forest secured a 2-1 victory. Since then, Manchester United has maintained an unbeaten streak, delivering remarkable comeback performances.

They have won six games and earned a draw against Tottenham during this period. Additionally, United has climbed the Premier League table, currently occupying the 6th position with 44 points. This places them in contention for a Champions League spot moving forward.

Ten Hag has won all 10 PL games against newly promoted clubs

Manager Erik ten Hag has also created a new record against Luton Town, as he has now won his first 10 games against newly promoted teams. That is indeed a great record as he is the first to win 100% of his first 10 games against the newly promoted teams.

The previous record was held by Jose Mourinho, who is linked to a Manchester United return. He did it in his first 15 games, while it was later broken by Roberto Mancini at Manchester City, who did it in 12 games.

Manchester United will now take on Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday, as they will hope to build on their unbeaten streak.
