Like NFL legend Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers was also a top-tier QB in the league who bid adieu to his professional football career a few years ago. The signal-caller recently came to the limelight once again due to his extended family welcoming a newborn lately.
Philip Rivers hits double digits in fatherhood
Rivers and his wife, Tiffany, welcomed their new baby, Andrew Joseph Rivers, on Oct. 30 this year. The boy weighed 8 lbs10 oz. as well as measured 22 following his and is the River family’s 10th child. The couple now have seven daughters and three sons, who age from 5 to 21. However, their father said the excitement regarding welcoming a new child has been an “awesome miracle” every time.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s the first child or the 10th child. It’s an awesome miracle every time. Everyone is home now, and everyone is good,” he said via People.
The ex-NFL star and his wife are parents to Andrew & Anna (4), Clare (8), Rebecca (10), Peter (13), Sarah) 14), Gunner (15), Grace (17), Caroline (18), and Halle (21). Following the news of the veteran’s new baby, the NFL community took to social media to share their take on his extended family.

Some users hilariously said the 41-year-old would have to utilize his earnings carefully to support his big family.

Fan’s take might turn out to be true as Rivers’ oldest son Gunner is currently playing as the starting quarterback for St. Michael Catholic High School. He even became the No.1 passing leader in the AL 2027 class with 2,561 pass yards following nine weeks.
What teams did Rivers play for?
After playing college football for the NC State Wolfpack, Philip Rivers headed to his NFL career after getting selected as the fourth overall by the New York Giants in the 2004 NFL Draft. He later got traded to the San Diego Chargers and remained with them for 16 seasons.
The signal-caller spent his first two seasons as a backup player before taking the starter role in 2006. From 2006 to 2019, he ensured six postseason appearances and four division titles for the franchise while leading it to secure its first playoff game since 1994. The veteran also paved the way for the Chargers to reach the AFC Championship Game in 2007.
The QB later played his final seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and recorded his seventh-time playoff appearance with them. He announced to retire from the NFL in 2021 with multiple titles and accolades including NFL Comeback Player of the Year (2013), eight Pro Bowls, NFL passing yards leader (2010), NFL passing touchdowns co-leader (2008), NFL passer rating leader (2008), and NFL completion percentage leader (2013).
After closing his NFL journey, Philip Rivers served as a high school football head coach for the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals.
