Manchester United are having one of their worst seasons in recent history. Starting the season with many controversies and scandals, the team has not performed well under manager Erik ten Hag. They are currently seventh in the league and are under much criticism by fans and the media.
One of the reasons for their failure so far is the massive number of injuries they have suffered right from the start. And now, just when they were getting some semblance of good form, they are hit with more injuries.
Erik ten Hag provides update on Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen
And now two key players for Manchester United, Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen, are also revealed to be injured. Both of them were substituted in the second half during the 1-0 win over Luton Town yesterday.
Eriksen was seen falling into an awkward position, while Hojlund was also seen receiving treatment on the pitch. Eriksen immediately came off, but the latter stayed on before being finally taken off.
The club can be somewhat relieved that they have a long international break, which means they won’t have to worry about club games. Both of the Danish players could be huge doubts for the Denmark national team, which has two games coming up this month.
When manager Erik ten Hag was asked about the injuries, he said that a lot of information is still unavailable. He said they are still awaiting medical tests to determine the extent of the injuries. “In this moment, I can’t tell anything about it because I don’t know. We do an assessment and we have to wait 24 hours for the conclusion. So we’ll give the medical team 24 hours to see what the problem is, if there is a problem,” he added.
Until the tests come out, there is no way of determining how long the two players will be out.
List of Manchester United stars out injured right now
Manchester United are suffering a dire situation, with many key players out through injury in recent months. The list is huge and includes many important players that will be out for some time. This is a primary reason for the team’s recent failures, as many bench players are being played instead, who are often not the manager’s preferred choices.
Casemiro is one of their recent injuries, suffering a thigh problem that could keep him out until January. His importance to the Manchester United midfield makes currently everything much worse without him.
Lisandro Martinez was injured right from the start of the season, suffering a dangerous injury on the foot. The Argentine could be back in January, and he was one of their best players last season.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is an injured player as well, even though he has recovered. He is currently ill and will be back this month. Likewise Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are also expected to be back this month, with the latter recently injured.
Youngster Amad Diallo still doesn’t have a definite return date and may not play this season. Jonny Evans has also suffered a short injury and could be back soon.
Manchester United have a long break to decide their new strategies and will next play on November 26 against Everton.
