However, despite these successive achievements, the Roma management decided to sack the 61-year-old following a recent dreadful form.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, the former Red Devils boss is keen on making a surprising return to Old Trafford as their manager. He has reportedly made it his mission to retake charge of Manchester United, believing that he has unfinished business at the club.
Reports also suggest that those close to the 61-year-old tactician believe he is closely observing the recent developments at the Premier League club. He is reportedly quite impressed with the workings of the new regime, the INEOS group, handling the sporting operations under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The contract of Erik ten Hag, the current Dutch manager of Manchester United, is set to expire in the summer of 2025, with the final 18 months approaching. Considering his performance, including the early Champions League exit and the team’s league form, it remains uncertain whether his stay will be extended by the new co-owners.
Portuguese manager’s previous United stint
