Manchester United are back in the market and are looking for another striker with the recent poor performances of Rasmus Hojlund affecting them a lot. The club are now very interested to bring in Joshua Zirkzee, and it looks like a very exciting talent will soon be at Old Trafford.
There were other targets in mind for the Red Devils, with Serhou Guirassy also being a great talent. But it now looks set that they will be going for only one of them, with a clear winner in their eyes.
Manchester United view top target in Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United are struggling for goals at the moment with many of their stars failing to bring out consistent performances. That’s why it is their top priority to bring in a top talent in the striker position, and it seems that their solution is Joshua Zirkzee.
Joshua Zirkzee is currently having a very great season in Italy, putting up good numbers for Bologna. The striker was formerly of Bayern Munich between 2018-22 and is very highly rated. It is not just Manchester United, but a lot of clubs that are very interested to bring in the Dutch talent. Even Bayern themselves are open to buying him back seeing his great form.
Before Zirkzee, Serhou Guirassy was the preferred target, with his great form for German club VFB Stuttgart interesting many. But it looks that the people at United now prefer to go for Zirkzee rather than Guirassy at this moment.
United are desperate to bring in a striker soon, with 18 goals scored by the first team so far. Only four were by their attackers, and the young striker is very much in favor to United’s new transfer policies.
Comparing Joshua Zirkzee to Serhou Guirassy
Both Joshua Zirkzee and Serhou Guirassy are talented youngsters, but there are various factors that United are considering before going in for one of them.
Zirkzee so far has been great for Bologna, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in 17 games this season. At 22 years old, he is also a prospect for the future. United are reportedly planning to spend the €40 million required to activate his release clause, though they may prefer to negotiate a lower transfer fee.
It is important to note Bayern are monitoring him, as they will receive half of whatever United pay Bologna. They also have the option to bring back the young striker for half of the release clause.
Meanwhile Serhou Guirassy has also had insane numbers at Stuttgart, scoring 17 goals in just 14 matches in the Bundesliga. Only Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane has scored more this season with 21 goals. Although he is the more experienced striker at 27 years old and has also been brilliant last season, he is only worth around €17.5 million.
But United won’t go for him despite all this, with reasons yet unknown. It could be that the Red Devils prefer someone younger, or because there could be a bidding war for Guirassy, a player everyone wants at the moment.
It remains to be seen what United finally decides on, but for now Joshua Zirkzee seems to be heading on his way to Old Trafford.
