Manchester United’s slow movement late in the transfer window has been down to their inability to offload fringe players, but they may have a breakthrough in the coming days as Bayern Munich are rumored to be interested in Scott McTominay.
The Scotland international has been deemed surplus to requirements by Erik Ten Hag following the summer arrival of Mason Mount, and Bayern Munich may be willing to take him out of Old Trafford to strengthen their midfield.
Manchester United need another midfielder to provide cover for Casemiro, who hasn’t been at his best this season. Sofyan Amrabat has long been linked to United, but any deal for the Fiorentina midfielder may be complicated at this point, as United don’t have the money to pull off the deal.

Fred has been sold to Fenerbahce, and Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay may follow suit before the end of the transfer window. However, United needs to sign another midfielder before letting those two moves happen.
United target Gravenberch to switch in loan deal
Erik Ten Hag appreciated Ryan Gravenberch after giving the youngster his debut at Ajax. However, the former Ajax youngster has found minutes hard to come by at Bayern Munich, leading to reports that he is unsettled in Germany and could leave this summer. Ten Hag’s past relationship with the young Dutchman could prove vital in convincing him to choose United, as Liverpool are also interested in signing the midfielder.
Any potential deal taking McTominay to Bayern Munich could include a loan deal to take Gravenberch to England. This should be great for United as they look to bolster their midfield following a recent injury to new signing Mason Mount.
