The former world number one, Maria Sharapova retired over 3 years back, after winning 5 Grand Slams. The Russian wished to focus on other aspects of her life after injuries and pain constantly hindered her tennis career. More recently, the tennis champ has been taking over the pickleball field as well.
Taking a break from this, running a huge business and also being a mother might not happen often, so Masha seems to have really cherished this cute vacation with her fiancé and her son. Over her career, there have been several instances were Sharapova’s interactions with her fans makes the entire tennis community smile. Unfortunately, one fan was so close to have this opportunity and missed it.
Maria Sharapova shared her Greece vacation moments
Recently, the news of Maria Sharapova teaming up with John McEnroe to go against Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf in the Pickleball Slam came out. This meant that Masha will soon have to get back to training for a new sport to play with other iconic tennis stars.
Sharapova also has her business endeavors and is also a mother to a one year old! So, a quick break and quality time with just her family was the best choice.
Masha shared the pictures of her vacation in Peloponesse, Greece on Instagram with the caption:
‘A holiday during the summer?? Still feels new to me 😅 My favorite at the very end [picture of her fiancé and son] 🥹🥹,’
The pictures she has put up showed everyone the calmness and serenity of the beautiful country she was in. Masha shared pictures of the book she was reading, the delicious food with the scenic beauty and aesthetics of Greece. She was seen to be in complete zen mode in the pictures and creating wholesome memories with her family.

Fan misses out on the chance to share the court with the tennis icon
As soon as the pictures of the Russian stunner went up, one fan was quick to realize that they had the chance to meet the star!
The fan’s comment roughly translated to them making a request and an invitation to meet. Apparently the fan realized that Masha was staying very close to their own house and the fan invited the tennis icon to play in a court near by. Given the adorable interactions that Sharapova has had with her fans before, this fan was also looking forward to maybe get a chance.
Unfortunately, even though Sharapova was super close, she had left the place before the fan could get to her. This may have upset the fan on him missing out on his “once in a lifetime” opportunity but he took it well, and did not lose heart. If the stars favor him, this chance might arise again and this time, we are sure he wouldn’t wait for Masha to visit him!
