Matt Hardy excitedly welcomes Will Ospreay to the AEW roster: “incredible performer in ring”

Matt Hardy, a member of Tony Khan’s company, has recently shared his excitement about Will Ospreay joining the AEW roster. Hardy has been with the Florida-based company since 2020, and his welcoming a young talent like Ospreay was a first for the fans.

The Aerial Assassin wrestled in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) for most of his career, and now he has gone the All Elite route, and fans love the change. ‘The Sensei Of Mattitude’ is thrilled to have a new face in the promotion and has a lot of thoughts on how this is the company’s best decision.

Matt Hardy is thrilled to have Will Ospreay in AEW

Matt Hardy, famous for his feud with Edge, has made it blatantly clear that he is a Will Ospreay fan. During the latest episode of “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, ‘The Angelic Diablo’ said that Will is a guaranteed future superstar and that a talent like his is hard to come by. From his athleticism to his microphone skills to his charisma, Ospreay is a much-needed talent for AEW.

Other famous wrestling figures, like ECW legend Tommy Dreamer, compared Will Ospreay to the WWE Hall of Famer, “Heart Break Kid” Shawn Michaels. Tommy further added that The Aerial Assassin will create a legacy comparable to “HBK” in the future.

“He 100% has the potential [to be a major player],’ added Matt Hardy. “I mean, he’s an incredible performer in ring. He is very, very special. I also think too, he’s been a good speaker. His mannerism, the way he expresses himself, has been really, really good and he just seems very believable. He seems very likable. I think he is someone that can be a huge deal, and someone that AEW can build around going forward.”

Matt Hardy receives new AEW contract

Matt Hardy’s AEW contract was set to expire by the end of this month, and recently Hardy provided his contractual update on “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast. The former WWE superstar said that his new contract is set for a few years. The conditions are similar to his last contract, however, he is still uncertain about how he should proceed with it.

According to ‘The Man Who Will Not Die’, he has only a few years left with the active competition. He believes that he should consider the “ins and outs of the contract.” Although he is happy that his stay with AEW was extended, Matt still thinks that he should explore the world outside his current promotion and rediscover himself as a wrestler.

Near the end, Hardy said, “Legacy is very important to me, knowing there’s only a couple years left of doing this. Schedule is very important to me because I want to spend as much time as I can with my family. That is very important. Once again, if I am working with Jeff, it is very important to me that The Hardys are optimized. It’s very important that The Hardys go out on a strong note. That’s what’s important to me.”
