Max Verstappen faces criticism from Martin Brundle for his negative comments about Las Vegas GP presentation

For the first time, Formula One is serving as both the organizer and the promoter of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. As a result, they have been marketing the event as a showcase for the sport, similar to the Super Bowl.

However, since the beginning, the Dutch Sensation has been indifferent to the preparations for the entire event, expressing criticism. Recently, he commented on the Grand Prix presentation, further criticizing their flashy arrangements.

Max Verstappen on Las Vegas GP presentation

Max Verstappen found Wednesday’s opening ceremony to be predictably uninspiring. He expressed “feeling like a clown” during the flashy presentation.

Formula One and the City of Lights collaborated to create a vibrant event, including a drone show and musical performances featuring Aussie singer Kylie Minogue.

As the evening’s performances ended in front of the track’s extensive pit complex, the F1 drivers emerged on individual stages for a formal presentation. However, Verstappen expressed a preference for a peaceful evening nap in the paddock rather than a flashy evening.

The Red Bull driver said, “For me, you can all skip these things. It’s not about the singer, it’s just standing up there, you look like a clown.”

“99% show, and 1% sporting event. Not a lot of emotions, to be honest. I just like to always focus on the performance side of things.

“I don’t like all the things around it, anyway. I know, of course, in some places, they are part of it, but let’s say it’s not in my interest.”

“I’m looking forward to trying to do the best I can, but I’m not looking forward to this [the show].”

Martin Brundle criticizes Max Verstappen’s negative attitude

Martin Brundle, a British former racing driver and commentator, expressed his disappointment with Verstappen’s attitude towards the Grand Prix. He claimed that the Dutch Sensation had a simple task of standing and waving to the audience, which is only half as challenging as working as a laborer in the mines.

Brundle said on the Sky, “If he doesn’t like it, I’m not sure he needs to say anything at all,”

“I was a bit disappointed by that.”

“Standing on a rostrum and waving at a lot of adulation from the fans… it’s not the worst job in the world, is it?”

“You’re not on shift work or down the mines…”

“I don’t understand why he feels so negative about it.”
