The grand finale event, designed to acknowledge the accomplishments of drivers and teams throughout motorsport, witnessed the presence of important figures such as FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem and F1 President Stefano Domenicali.

The Dutch driver received the FIA Formula One Drivers’ Championship trophy, solidifying his status as the pinnacle of driving excellence in the 2023 season. Simultaneously, Red Bull was formally declared the Constructors Championship for the year. This dual recognition at the Gala marks Max Verstappen and Red Bull as the official triumphant figures in the 2023 Formula One Campaign.

When being handed the prestigious trophy by none other than Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Verstappen said, “Throughout the year we were on a great role,” 

“I think it did hit me a little bit more once I was standing on the podium in Abu Dhabi, you realise the season is over and you don’t get to drive this car anymore.”

“It’s been incredible, it’s been a lot of great fun as well to work with everyone. We all want to win and do the best we can, but when you’re traveling around so much all over the world, you want to also do it with a great group of people.”
